GASTONIA - Michael "Danny" Daniel Ruff, 64, of Gastonia passed away Aug. 12, 2010, at home.
He was born May 4, 1946, in Gaston County to the late Melvin and Lucille Peeler Ruff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carpenter Ruff; brother, Richard Ruff; and sister, Amelia "Roni" Wells.
He graduated Hunter Huss High School Class of 1965 and was employed by Burlington Industries for many years. He was a member of Open Door Freewill Baptist Church in Gastonia. He loved to play chess and go fishing with his nephews.
He is survived by his children, Michael Woods, Tammy Fernandez, Anita Woods and Crystal Woods; brothers, Charles Ruff of Gastonia and Jim Ruff of Dallas; sisters, Marie McSwain (Summey) of Florida, Betty Bernasconi of Gastonia; aunt, Pat Ruff of Rutherfordton; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug.16, 201,0 at 1 p.m. at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Summey officiating.
The visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for the service will be Donnie Wells, Jerome Wells, Jeremiah Summey and David Helton.
