Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Norma Alger, age 98, will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Maury City Church of God with Rowdy Davis officiating. Interment will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Fairview Memorial Park, North Lake, Illinois.
Mrs. Alger died Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born July 11, 1914 in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Gustave and Nora Ruehmer. Mrs. Alger was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Alger; sisters, Hildagard Rulah, Marge Groenhoff and Terasa Wheeler; brother, Gustave Ruehmer.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Marilyn Ayers; Sharon Layng and husband Don; sister, Lorraine Cockle; grandchildren, Jeralyn Laurie and husband Mike, Shelly Baker, Paul Wengstrom, Loretta Jones and David Kelly and wife Elizebeth; thirteen great-grandchildren.
