Sarah Geneva (Neva) McKinney Goodman, 91, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Hospice of High Point. She had been in failing health for several years, and went to be with the Lord early on Monday morning. Members of her family were at her side. A family funeral will be held at the graveside in Westminster Gardens in Greensboro at noon on Wednesday, October 2. The Reverend Jon Kyle Goodman, grandson of Neva, will officiate. Neva was born in Tampa, FL to the late J.J. and Geneva Albury McKinney on October 27, 1921. She moved to Asheville, NC in 1939 where she met her husband. They were married in Asheville, NC in August, 1941, and began their family the next year. Neva was a 50+ year member of Guilford Baptist Church. She served the church in several capacities. She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Goodman, Sr. She is survived by three sons, John H. Goodman, Jr. (Patsy) of Reidsville, Robert (Bob) H. Goodman (Phyllis) of High Point, and Richard H. Goodman (Sebea) of Eureka, TX. In addition she is survived by 11 grandchildren: John Todd Goodman, Tracy Prillaman, Gregory Knight, Kyle Goodman, Wendi Stockstill, Bobby Goodman, Wesley Goodman, Eric Goodman, Dawn Campbell, Daniel Parker, and Melissa Lyons. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren: Joshua Goodman Moore, Madison Goodman, Joanna Goodman, Jillian Goodman, Brittany Prillaman, Rachel Prillaman, Clementine Knight, Blake Stockstill, Breelyn Stockstill, Blake Goodman, Brandon Goodman, Zoe Goodman, Aidan Goodman, Cale Goodman, Hannah Campbell, Hayleigh Campbell, Brennan Campbell, Jeffrey Lyons, Eben Lyons, and Daniel Lyons. In addition she is survived by one great-great grandchild, Colton Prillaman.
