Mrs. Eloise Hickerson Turner, age 88, of North Wilkesboro died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. John A. Speaks officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 to 1:45 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Turner was born June 14, 1925 in Surry County to Lythel Wilson, Sr. and Vaud Lillian Fletcher Hickerson. Before retiring, she worked for Wilkesboro Cleaners. Mrs. Turner was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell Turner; two brothers, Lythel Hickerson, Jr. and Theodore Hickerson.

She is survived by: three daughters, Christine Evans, Pauline Brown and husband, Ralph all of Greensboro, L. Elaine Morrisey and husband, Romeo of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Tiffany N. Brown, Natalie R. Morrisey, Christina D. Morrisey-Caldwell and husband, Michael, Douglas M. Brown, Sr. and wife, Angela; two-great-grandchildren, Douglas M. Brown, Jr., Olivia Barrett; one sister, Pauline H. McNair of Greensboro and one brother, Paul Hickerson of Greensboro.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 306 Main Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
