"South Brisbane. - Burton Jesse Adams is charged on warrant issued by the South Brisbane Bench with having, about the 31st July last, deserted his wife Daisy, Chatsworth Road, Cooparoo. Description: A native of New South Wales, a labourer, 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, slender build, black hair, small dark moustache, brown eyes, scar over right eye, anchor tattooed on one arm, having the letter 'A' on one side and 'B' on the other. Supposed to be working on a station in the Gladstone District. - 0.277"
Burton married, Daisy Ethel Thornley, December 20, 1893, at Queensland. As late as 1958 she was still living in New South Wales, Australia, with the same last name. She may not have remarried.
