Steve was born August 31, 1953 in Stella Mo. to the late Chalmer Tanner and Virgie Gibbens Tanner and had lived in the Neosho area most of his life.
He worked at LaZ-Boy for 32 years and the Webb City School District for 5 years. Steve had a passion for people. He was humanitarian and was always looking for a way to give back. Steve enjoyed interacting with the young people and teaching the life lessons and responsibilities.
Steve is survived by his wife, Lynda, daughter, Angela Tanner, of Springfield, two stepsons, Troy and Andrew Katchusky, both of Lady Lake Florida, one sister, Carolyn McKnight of Neosho, brother in law, Arnold McKnight of Neosho, nephews, David, Darrin and Davin. and a niece Misty Lowe.
Services are planned for Monday at 10a.m. at Parker Mortuary with Chapel Rev. Bob Simon officiated. The family will receive friends following the service at the Mortuary.
