"Ray H. Potter, 90, of Allen, Nebraska died at his home on Monday, December 7, 2009. A memorial service for Ray will be held at a later date. Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements.

Ray was born on April 24, 1919, in Akron, Colorado, the son of John W. and Cecil I. (Robinson) Potter. At the age of two, the family moved to Ulysses, Nebraska, where Ray attended rural country school. In 1932, Ray and his family moved to Allen, Nebraska, where Ray graduated from High School in 1936. After graduating he attended Wayne State College, where he earned is teaching degree. He taught country school south of Wakefield until entering the United States Army in 1941. Ray served three and an half years in the South Pacific. After being released from the service in 1945, Ray worked as an accountant in the automotive field in Sioux City, Iowa, Los Angles, California, Omaha, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado. Ray retired in 1981 and returned to Allen, Nebraska, where he was living at the time of his death.

He is survived by a sister Dorothy Brownell of Lincoln, Nebraska, three nieces and three nephews and their families, and a sister-in-law Estelle Potter of Omaha, Nebraska.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert and Earl a brother-in-law Raymond Brownell and a sister-in-law Nola Potter."
