Jack C. Barron, 101, of Center, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. He was born October 6, 1912 in Center to Claude Elmo Barron and Kate McLendon Barron. Mr. Barron graduated from Center High School in 1929. In 1933, he graduated from Texas A & M, where he was second in his class. Mr. Barron worked as a forest ranger, a highway engineer and a surveyor. He owned and operated Builders Supply Company on Shelbyville Street for more than forty years. He served on the Center City Council and was a member of the Texas A & M Century Club. Mr. Barron was a member of First Baptist Church in Center, where he served as a longtime deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Bro. Carl Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until service time at Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

He is survived by
Daughter: Polly Smith and husband, Larry of Center

Granddaughter: Lois Anne Bessinger and husband, Glenn of Longview

Grandson: John Richard Lane of Corpus Christi

Parents: Claude Elmo Barron and Kate McLendon Barron
