When Anne Berniece McCurley was born on April 20, 1928, in McCurley Prairie, Denton County, Texas, her father, Andrew Jackson McCurley, was 53, and her mother, Maud Ann Crites McCurley, was 39.

She had eight older siblings and later another sister was born. Her mother also had several babies who died in or near birth in the years around when Anne was born in 1928.

When she was twenty she left home and married Ernest M. Thompson in March 13, 1948, in Rockwall, Texas.

She gave birth to her first child, a daughter, Cheryl Darlene, in August and gave her up for adoption on August 10, 1948.

Afterward, she apparently separated from/informally divorced Ernest M. Thompson.

Anne subsequently married James E. Meddlers in Rockwall, TX, on August 17, 1949. Anne gave birth to Lanette Verne LaFontaine on December 29, 1953. Anne married Eugene Albert LaFontaine on September 15, 1955. Anne gave birth to another daughter, Synthia Delina LaFontaine, on February 12, 1957. Anne separated from Eugene Albert LaFontaine by 1959. Anne married Dan Moody Stuard on October 31, 1966. Anne worked as the Finance and Insurance Manager at Ernest Allen Chevrolet in Fort Worth, Texas. Anne lived with Charles Ray Rogers off and on throughout the years. Anne also lived with/married a man with the last name of "James" at some point while her daughters were young. Anne lived with her daughters in different rent houses around Fort Worth, Texas, moving often. Anne married Claude Horton, a former professional golfer, on July 11, 1969. They lived on Timberline Drive with Anne's two daughters, Lanette and Synthia, in Fort Worth, Texas. She divorced Claude Horton on December 3, 1971, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. She moved with her daughters to some apartments off of Seminary Drive near I-35 and the Seminary South Mall in Fort Worth, Texas. Both of Anne's daughters had left home by 1973. Anne married Charles Ray Rogers in Parker County, Texas, on November 29, 1975. Anne's father died in 1980 at age 105. Anne's mother died in 1982 at age 98.The only sibling of Anne's (of the ten that lived to adulthood) who died before Anne was Marie McCurley Hudson, who died in 1988 in Waxahachie, TX, of breast cancer. Anne died of lung cancer at age 65 on May 10, 1993, in Burleson, Texas, and was buried in McCurley Cemetery, near her parents, in Lewisville, Texas. At the time she had three daughters (she had no contact with Darlene for most of her life) and 7 grandchildren. Darlene had 2 children; Lanette had 4 children: Matthew, David, Michael and Shelah; Synthia had 1 child: Nicole. Anne's siblings lived much longer than Anne and Marie, the only two of the children of Andrew Jackson McCurley and Maude Ann Crites McCurley who smoked cigarettes of the family. The last of Anne's siblings to die were Helen and Dan, who died after 2016.
