Services for Mary Ellison Brown, age 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will be held in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel of Hugo, OK. Officiating will be Reverend Philip Webb. Mrs. Brown passed away on July 6, 1998 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mary Ellison Brown was born November 13, 1910 to William "Frank" and Susan (Snead) Ellison. Mary married Neulon "Red" Brown Jr. on December 19, 1949 in Bernalillo, NM. She was born and raised in Fort Towson, OK, then lived much of her life in Albuquerque, returning to Fort Towson from 1972 until 1985 to be with her mother. Mary attended school at both Chilocco and Wheelock Academy. Mary worked for the Federal Service in the Bureau of Indian Affairs from November of 1933 until April of 1972. At the time of her retirement she was Administrative Officer of the Southern Pueblo Office in Albuquerque. Mary Ellison Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Red Brown on July 14, 1965, one sister, Roma I. Criswell and three brothers, Edward F. Ellison, Eugene E. Ellison and Thomas Jack Ellison. Mary is survived by two sisters, Geneva Thomas of Phoenix, AZ and Jimmie Davis of Albuquerque, many nieces and nephews and her longtime friend and companion, Hank Frey. Following services, interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
