Jim is survived by his children Tracy (Jeff) Vaughn, Scott (Shelley) Bell, Susan (Todd) Leverton, Joel (Adrienne) Bell, Jamie (Chris) Kelso, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings JoAnne (Ed) McDougall, Bob (Edie) Bell, Mike Bell, Nick (Sue) Bell and David (Brenda) Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vicki (Rick) Jarvis and granddaughter Karlee Bell.
Jim served in the United States Air Force and was a huge Illini and Dodgers fan. He worked as a stationary engineer for the State of Illinois until his retirement.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Rev. Don Winters officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
