Eugenia “Jean” Cook, 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2001, at Harborside Nursing Home in Swanto, Ohio. She owned and operated with her husband, Ron, who preceded her in in 1986, the Gasiorowski Memorial on Lagrange St. in the Polish Village, which was opened by her father, Frank Gasiorowski. in 1917. Jean was active in numerous civic projects and belonged to a number of organizations, including the L.C.B.A, VFW 5530 Auxiliary, American Legion 545 Auxiliary, Lagrange St. Business and Professional Womens Association, and she also helped to organize the Cub Scout Troop at St. Adalbert Church. Jean was a volunteer at the Progressive Eye Center and at the Anne Grady Center for many years. Jean was very generous of her time to help other people, especially kids. Children held a special place in her heart and she always promoted and worked on any project that helped kids and she continued to work with the young people at Lyons Christian Church until, because of illness, she had to move to the nursing home.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Frank and Tom (Carol) Cook; seven grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Thomas Jr. (Lori) and Kevin Cook, Tina and Mark Febre and Mary Templin. Also surviving are 14 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Gasiorowski Memorial, 3302 Lagrange St., from 2-9 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2001, where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2001, at 11 a.m., Pastor Brent Pomeroy officiating. Final resting place Calvary Cemetery.

The family asks for any contributions to be made to the Lyons Christian Church Youth Programs or to any youth group of your choosing. We would like to thank the entire staff at Harborside Nursing Home for the loving care given to our mother.
