Robert "Ninde" Neuenschwander, age 82, of Edwardsville, died at 2:54 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1923, in Edwardsville, the son of the late August and Hilda Behrendt Neuenschwander. He married M. Jean Sturgeon on March 15, 1946, in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2004.
He is survived by a daughter (living) Ramey, two grandchildren, a step-grandson, a sister Shirley Lebegue, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Ray Neuenschwander, two brothers-in-law Carl Lebegue and Don Sturgeon, and a sister-in-law Alberta Neuenschwander.
Mr. Neuenschwander was a salesman for Weeke Wholesale Company for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the European Theater for 2 1/2 years. His memberships included St. John's United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, the American Legion Post 199 in Edwardsville, and the Moose Lodge 1561 in Edwardsville.
