Pearl Elizabeth Byrns Bragg, 88, of Amissville, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, VA. She was born in Calverton on March 7, 1923, a daughter of Howard Hamilton Byrns and Mattie Heflin Byrns. Mrs. Bragg was a Christian and she enjoyed watching and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. She had retired from the Warrenton District Nursing Home and loved dancing, flowers and family trips to Charles Town. Mrs. Bragg was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Bragg Sr., two grandchildren; Bobby Brown and Donna Maxwell and three brothers; Tommy, Murray and Bobby Byrns. She is survived by her nine children; Joyce Perrott of Culpeper, Patsy Brown of Fauquier County, Janet Cassell of Calverton, John Wesley Bragg, Jr. of Inwood, WV, Linda Bywaters of Amissville, Nancy Gordon of Leesburg, Judy Brown of Culpeper, Jimmy Bragg and Mort Bragg, both of Amissville. Mrs. Bragg also leaves her siblings; Grace Reno of Maryland, Thelma Fowler of West Virginia, Hazel Wilder, Billy Byrns and Floyd Byrns, all of Maryland. Additional survivors include nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Friends may pay their respects at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton on Monday, April 25 from 12 pm until 9 pm. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 147, Amissville, VA 20106.
