George A. (Lonnie) Newton, 87, of 612 Baker Street in Belvidere died Friday at 3:12 P. M. at Highland Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was an avid sportsman and taxidermist and a life long Boone County resident.
He was born Dec. 20, 1885, the son of Granger and Minnie Albright Newton.
Mr. Newton was the last of his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 P. M. at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane E. Heap, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
