Funeral service for Sis. Carrie Lee Simon Ford, 83, will be held at 11AM Friday, April 25, 2014 in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Elmore Garner will officiate.

Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 9AM in the church.

Sis. Ford died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 7:34PM in her residence.

She was born in New Iberia April 20, 1930 to the late Walter and Carrie Nora Simon. She was a resident or Lake Charles most of her life where she was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and served as Deaconess and Missionary for over 50 plus years.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Gregory Ford of Lake Charles; two sisters, Sarah Simon Conway and Annie Mae Fondal; and brother, Percy Simon all of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Tracey and Derrick Ford both of Lake Charles, and Jaren Ford of Norfolk, VA; two great grandchildren, Braiden Ford of Lake Charles and Cierra Ford of Houston, TX.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ford; one son, Jimmie Ford; seven sisters, a set of twins, along with Alice Archangel, Mamie Crofton, Gladys Simon, Janette Broussard, and Annie "Sue" Broussard; and five brothers, Walter Simon Jr., Benny, Eugene, Clarence, and Howard Simon; and nephew, Lawrence Simon who her mother raised from a baby.
