Born in St. Louis, Mo., Politte came to Portland in 1894 and worked as a marine engineer on the rivers for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Steamboat Men’s association.
Survivors include his widow, Etta May; children, Mrs. Frances O. Robbins, Mrs. Nina B. Cayo and Kenneth W. Politte, all of Portland.
