Arnold E. Armstrong , age 84, of Altmar died on Thursday at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Oswego . He was born March 5, 1920 in Orwell, the son of David and Ruth Finister Armstrong . He resided in Altmar since 1946. He graduated from Sandy Creek High school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He is a member of Russell Tryon Post number 1435 American Legion Altmar. He is a former member of Defiance Fire Dept in Altmar.
Surviving are one son, David A. Armstrong of Altmar; one daughter Merilee A. Heath of Lynchburg, Virginia; one sister Barbara Stowell of Lacona; eight grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Vera A. Barnard, who died November 6, 1990; a daughter Carole Dana, who died November 24, 2003 and a grandson, Matthew Dana, who died in 1980.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St. Pulaski. Burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell
