A native of Manitowoc County, he was born in the town of Eaton, July 23, 1882, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Tollefson. He attended rural school in Eaton and one Nov. 22, 1911, married the former Lucy Sachs of Chilton.
A farmer all of his life, he had been a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Stockbridge Lodge 201.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Harold, Neenah; three daughters, Mrs. O. R. Ramminger (Dorothy) Windson, Wis., Mrs. Paul Schomish (Jeanette), route 1, Kiel and Mrs. Fred Mann (Grace), Ripon, and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Trovel, Milwaukee.
Services were held at Niles Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc with Dr. Arthur M. Krueger, president of Lakeland College officiating. Burial was ion Hillside Cemetery, Chilton.
