In 1946, she married Hugh A. Raubeson in New Mexico. The couple had a daughter, Kathy, together, before the marriage ended in divorce.

Mrs. Allen-Schumacher went on to a career with the First National Bank of Durango spanning several decades. Her first position with the bank was as secretary to A.M. Camp. She then she became a loan officer. Mrs. Allen-Schumacher retired in 1989 after working as assistant vice president for the bank.

In 1954, she married James G. Allen at St. Columba Catholic Church in Durango. The couple was married more than 40 years and had three children together before the marriage ended in divorce.

Mrs. Allen-Schumacher was a member of the founding board of directors for the Durango Education Foundation.

While attending her 55th high school reunion, she reconnected with former classmate LeRoy Schumacher. On May 12, 1999, the couple married in Laughlin, Nev. She enjoyed the last 15 years of her life with the man her family called, “the love of her life.”

She was an active bowler, winning numerous trophies during her life.

Mrs. Allen-Schumacher is survived by her husband, LeRoy Schumacher of Bayfield; children Mark Allen and Jeanne Dittmar, both of Durango, Gordon Allen of Bayfield and Kathy Wilson of Moab, Utah; sister, Eleanor Brown-Cornelius, of Nashville, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
