PARAGOULD — Charles "Elmer" Wigginton, 78, of Paragould died Saturday, Dec. 14, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Born in Obion, Tenn., he was a retired car dealer and a retired sergeant major in the Army Reserve. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a charter member of West View Baptist Church and a 50 year member of Paragould Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Wigginton of the home; three sons, Houston Wigginton, Doug Wigginton and Keith Wigginton, all of Paragould; one stepson, Terry Lamb of Paragould; one stepdaughter, Sherry Noble of Kennett, Mo.; one sister, Lessie Mauppin of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Annie Wigginton; his first wife, Verneal Wigginton; two brothers, Frank Wigginton and A.T. Wigginton; and one sister, Essie Daniels.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Funeral Home chapel in Paragould, with Leon Johnson Jr., and Cheddy Wigginton officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Deacons of West View Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the West View Baptist Church Sunday school class.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the West View Baptist Church Building Fund.
