A.L. Brock, Sr. was born on June 12, 1914, in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas. He departed this life on May 29, 1999 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 16 days at Summit Hospital in Bossier City,Louisiana. He married Ollie Bell Long on February 8, 1937 and to this union 10 children were born.
As a young boy, he joined the Elizabeth Baptist Church of Plain Dealing, Louisiana. He was a resident of Montgomery,Louisiana.,for many years where he also operated a small business.
He is preceded in death by brothers Earl, Nathaniel and Curtis and sisters are Catherine Thomas, El Dorado, Arkansas; Frankie Golden, Houston,Texas; Ruby Jones, Oakland, California; and Artie Mae Smith, El Dorado, Arkansas.
He is survived by wife, Ollie Bell Brock, and sons A. L. Brock, Jr. (Emma), Benton, Louisiana; Kamack Brock (Jean), Montgomery, Louisiana; Alfred Brock (Gloria) Winnfield, Louisiana, Odell Brock (Patricia), Plain Dealing, Louisiana, James Brock (Bobbie), Bossier City, Louisiana; daughters, Mae Bell Brock of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, Ollie Tinsley (Fred) Dallas, Texas,Lillie Howard, Slaughter, Louisiana and Lenora Ann Brock, Shreveport, Louisiana.
