Alfred Albertson was born in Urness township March 26, 1896 the son of Albert and Mari Albertson. He grew to manhood in Moe township and was confirmed in the East Moe Lutheran church During World War I he served his country in the U.S. Navy and after the War served a year as Commander of the Garfield Legion Post. Mr. Albertson moved from Garfield to South Dakota in 1936 where he farmed until the fall of 1962. He moved back to Garfield area where he made his home. Albert Albertson died Sunday Sept. 8, 1963 at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 12 days. Surviving are 4 brothers, Elling of Garfield; Carl and Sydney of Buffalo, S.D.; Melford of Colorado Springs, Colo., 3 sisters, Miss Christine Albertson and Mrs. Clara Cooper of Lemmon, S.D. and (Anne) Mrs. Gean Holcomb of Harding, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
