She was born in Harrison County, Virginia (now WV), daughter of Martin Post and Sarah Peterson Post, and died at Jesse's Run near Jane Lew, Lewis County, West Virginia. On 28 February 1819. in Harrison Co. she married Gideon Cheuvront, son of Rev Joseph Cheuvront and Elizabeth Ellsworth Cheuvront. His father officiated. Phoebe and Gideon were parents of eight children: Sarah Ann, James Martin, Eliza. Aaron, George. Elizabeth, Mary Jane, and Edwin. Her father served in the Revolutionary War.
