June 1. ~ John Henry Crane died at the home of his son W. J. Crane, Thursday night, May 20, age 73 years. Mr. Crane, although he had been in poor health for some time, was confined to the house but three weeks. He was born and had nearly always lived on the place where he died, it having been property of the Crane family for eighty years. Though quiet and retiring in his manner, Mr. Crane was a man of sterling qualities and was highly esteemed by all by all who knew him. He was a sincere and devoted Christian, having been a loyal member of the Presbyterian church for many years and for a long time one of its elders. Mr. Crane leaves one son, William J. Crane, who lives on the Crane farm, one mile east of Galway village, and who cared for his father during his illness. The funeral was held at the house Monday May 24th the Reverend Norman McLeon officiating. Burial in Galway village cemetery.
