OBITUARY
"Twilight of June first nineteen hundred and thirty seven, slowing creeping across the old familiar haunts cradling the mystic beauties of nature in shadowy solitude and peace, brought the sad news of the death of Willoughby Griffith Hester, who was the victim of pneumonia.
Willoughby Hester, son of the late John K. and Susan Mitchell Hester was born in Robertson County Jan. 5, 1868. He was one of a large family; one brother Hiram Hester and 2 sisters, Mrs. Alice Insko and Mrs. Daniel Insko, now the only surviving immediate members. Feb. 26, 1898, he married Ellena McConnell and to this union 5 sons and 3 daughters were born: Paul, Garrett and Harry Hester of Robertson County; Hazard Hester of Lexington; and Dr. E.G. Hester of Saginaw Mich., Mrs. Dewey Moore and Mrs Everett Linville also of Robertson County and Mrs. Lloyd Workman of Bracken County. Mr. Hester also leaves a foster-daughter, Edith Ware whom he had taken from the Orphan home; 18 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; several nephews and nieces, and many friends.
W.G. Hester was a wellknown and energetic farmer and a loyal member of the Corinth Christian Church, Hittville, to which he had belonged since an early age. He was also a member of the church board.
Funeral services were conducted at the New Corinth Church Thursday afternoon, June 3, at 3 o'clock. Rev. Pfanstiel and Rev. Dewey Havens were the ministers in charge. Several beautiful songs were sung by wellknown singers of Robertson County. The active pall-bearers were: A.J. Lundrigan, Cole Hamilton, A. Wilson, W.H. Claypoole, Nelson Stevenson, and Estill Trueax; Honarary: Henry Corlis, Wyatt Coons, Chambers Perry, John Owens, Leslie Vanhook, and T.J. Wood. Burial services were in charge of Bratton & Insko of Mt. Olivet. The body was laid to rest in the Mt. Olivet cemetery."
