W. R. Sprague Rites Tomorrow; Active Veteran
CATO – William R. Sprague, 59, of Broadway Road, Cato RD 2, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jewell Funeral Home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 514 South St., Cato.
Born in Syracuse, he moved to Victory in 1961. He was an inspector for Carrier Corporation for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific.
He was a member of Jordan American Legion Post 1127, Salt City VFW and the Military Order of Cooties and was a former member of General Pulaski Post, American Legion.
Surviving are four sons, William of Rome, Franchot of Bridgeport and Raymond and Kennety Sprague of Syracuse; his mother, Mrs. Renwick Sprague of Cato; a brother, Raymond Sprague of Cato; a sister, Mrs. Adelaide Hayes of Syracuse; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
