Lester E. "Bud" Bannwart, 91, Michigan City, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 7:45 am.
He was born August 15, 1922 in Michigan City Indiana to the late Emil and Edna (Gloff) Bannwart .
On October 24, 1942 in Michigan City he married Florence "Flo" Braden, who preceded him in death on April 30, 2004.
Surviving are 3 Sons, David (Mary Ann) Bannwart of LaPorte, IN, Robert (Mary Ann) Bannwart of Henderson, KY, James (Maryann) Bannwart of St. John Island, SC; 4 Granddaughters, Abby (Jake) Fisher of LaPorte, IN, April (Aaron Gustafson) Bannwart of Michigan City, IN, Nicole Bannwart of Michigan City, IN, Jaime (Don) Shelton of Roanoke, VA; 3 Grandsons, Brad (Tia) Bannwart of Vadnais Heights, MN, Scott Bannwart of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas (Lisa) Bannwart of Haymarket, VA; 9 Great-Grandchildren, Sara, Jenna, Hannah, Daniel, Evan, Dierich, David, Mia, Landon; He was preceded in death by Sisters, Lillian Hill, Dorothy Meyer and Brother, Ralph Bannwart.
Bud was a retired farmer and a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Moose Family Center 980 , Coolspring Farm Institute, Coolspring Twp. Farm Bureau and the Coolspring Twp. Democratic Club.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City with Pastor William Fine, officiating.
Private family burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana.
