PFC Frederick L. Allums was an infantryman serving with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division. On March 7, 1968, PFC Allums died as a result of metal fragment wounds he received while in his unit’s base camp in Dinh Tuong Province, RVN, when it came under a hostile mortar attack.
