Jeffrey Dahle, 93, West Fargo, North Dakota, died Monday, May 1, 2000 in ManorCare Health Services, Fargo.
Mr. Dahle was born October 11, 1906 in Montpelier, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended rural schools and graduated from Montpelier High School. Jeffrey then farmed for a short period of time in the Montpelier area. In 1930 he moved to West Fargo and worked for Armour and Company for 29 years. Jeffrey married Erva Arves on August 7, 1937 in Moorhead, Minnesota. In 1959 he began working for the city of West Fargo as the city auditor until he retired in 1977. Jeffrey then worked at the city assessor for West Fargo on a part time basis for ten years until age 80. He continued to service on the West Fargo special assessment board until his death.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jim (Kathy) of Coon Rapids, MN; Tom (Karen Oby) of Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren; special family member, Miriam Arves of West Fargo; two sisters-in-law, Margarette Dahle of Fargo, Florence Dahle of Montpelier; 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia of Montpelier; brothers, Abel of Montpelier, Ottis of Fargo, Horace (Ester) of Montpelier; sister, Alice (Ray) Forbes of Milton Freewater, OR.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Lions Club of West Fargo.
The funeral was held in Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
