Michael Frayn, of Lutz, came to Tampa ten years ago. He was a graduate of Missouri University and served proudly as a U.S. Marine for eight years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a dedicated veteran, devoting a lot of his energy and time to numerous veterans' organizations, including the Tampa Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, where he served as the Secretary, the U.S.O, the American Legion Post 0208 and, along with his family, volunteered at the James A. Haley Veteran Wheelchair Olympics. He participated in Wreaths Across America and was an Honor Fight escort, honoring the service personnel of WWII. He is survived by his loving wife, Leigh; parents, Norman & Bette Frayn of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Amanda Raphael and her friend Kyle Nichols of Lakeland; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Christina Raphael of Tampa; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Julie Frayn of St. Louis, MO; and nieces, Stephanie Frayn, Michelle Frayn and Lauren Niewald (Adam). A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday, 12:30 pm, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the Veterans' organizations of which Michael dedicated his time.
