Many researchers have combined 2 William Francis, who just happened to both have wives named Peace, and were in the same area.
This/our William Francis, son of William Francis and Patience Negus, born Jul 4 1809, and Married Peace 'D' Coggeshall, 01 Apr 1832 in Tiverton. Peace died 1852 the same year daughter Peace was born. Possibly in childbirth? Their children, Peace Francis's death record, Charity Lavina Francis's death record, and son Gideon C. Francis death record all state their parents are William Francis and Peace 'Coggeshall'. William married 2nd Priscilla Cluny 24 Apr 1853 in Tiverton. When William died 07 Feb 1881 he left a Will naming all living children. He wrote his will back in 1869, probably after the death of his father. I believe he lived all if not most of his life in Tiverton/Troy. I also believe they had a couple of other children not named in his will, probably because they were deceased already when William died, but they could belong to the other Wm Francis. Also the other William was married to his wife Peace during the 1860, 1870 census in Westport.
The other William Francis, son of Nathan Francis, was born 1804 in Westport. He married Peace 'B' Almy. They had a few children with similar if not the same names. They lived most of their lives in Westport, but did live for a period of time in Fall River, which has caused much of the confusion.
Therefore, this William Francis is the one that married Peace (middle initial 'D') Coggeshall. I descend from this William's second wife Priscilla Cluny, so I have not researched Peace D Coggeshall to see who her parents were, but several other researchers insinuate it is John Coggeshall.
