MORGAN- Our sweet mom, grandma, and great-grandma, Wanda Hansen, was reunited with her lifelong sweetheart on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was born April 3, 1918 to Heber C. and Edna Rock Spackman. Wanda lived most of her childhood years in Castle Rock, Utah. She attended school in Coalville, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1936.

While working in a coffee shop in Ogden, Wanda met a handsome delivery man, Virgil Nick Hansen. They soon fell in love and were married on Oct. 7, 1937. Together they had three children and raised them in several places throughout northern Utah, until they finally settled in Morgan where they built a family home.

Wanda was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was always patient, caring, and loving in the attention she gave her family. She always made you feel so special.

Wanda was an accomplished seamstress, making most of her children’s clothing. She won many awards at the county fairs for her beautiful work making afghans, embroidery on pillow cases, and canning. She was especially talented at cutwork, giving some to each child and grandchild. Reading, playing cards and games, taking trips to Wendover, and watching baseball games and the Utah Jazz were some of her favorite things to do. She spent many hours volunteering in the kitchen at the Senior Center where she made some very good friends.

Wanda is survived by her children, Richard Bruce (Barbara) Hansen and Pat Martinez; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and son, Lauarance Nick (Larry).

A special thanks to the Family Tree and Hospice for Utah for all the care they have provided.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Morgan Stake Center, 355 N 700 E. Friends may visit with family that same day from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, North Morgan Cemetery.
