Helene Sulsar was born March 8, 1923 in Garden Home, OR, the daughter of David and Mary Ley of Reedsport, OR. She had a sister Betty Taylor and a brother George Ley, both whom are deceased.

Survivors include her husband, Mickey Sulsar of 67 years; daughter Robbi Sulsar-Eustachy and son-in-law Ray Eustachy of Springfield. Her eldest daughter Nikki Foster, who is deceased as of July 9, 2010, was survived by her husband Jim Foster of Aurora, OR. Also surviving her are 3 granddaughters from Robbi; Kim Mesa, Misty Fisher, and Darcie Perkins; also 7 Great-grandchildren ranging from 7 to 22 years old. Has one niece, Connie Smith and one nephew David Franklin who survives her as well.

She and Mickey worked and brought up their daughters in Waldport, OR from 1948 to 1987. Helene worked the better of 23 years at First Interstate Bank of Waldport and Mickey was the manager of the P.U.D. office for 37 years.

After leaving Waldport in the early 80's, they spent several years traveling in their motor home, enjoying their retirement.

They settled in Springfield in 1999, where Mickey still lives.

For those of you who were lucky enough to have known or met Helene, she was a bright and inspiring light. Her heart was so huge and a smile that warmed your insides. She will be truly missed.

The family will have their own private service and her remains will be at rest at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
