Funeral services for Mr. Mark Edward Ramsey, 44 of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00 pm, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Reynolds Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Brother Lattimore Dobbins officiating and inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery.
Public Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
On Friday, April 18, 2014, he departed this life at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus. He was born to the late Edward and Sylvia Neal Ramsey on April 9, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a Christian.
He received his formal education in the Chicago Public Schools. At age fourteen, his family relocated to Decatur, Alabama. He was gifted and had an immense passion for music. He spent his adult life writing, recording and performing music in various settings and with several groups including On Somethin' Entertainment, Home Team Entertainment and Bomb Productions.
He was married on September 26, 2012 to Shannon Hitt Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Edward and Sylvia Neal Ramsey; grandparents, William and Effie Neal, Paul and Connie Cotton; one aunt, Yvonne Rhone.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Shannon Hitt Ramsey of Decatur; four children, Almontraez Provens of Athens, Marques, Jayden and Kolby Brown all of Decatur; two sisters, Monica Peoples of Savannah, GA and Micheon Ramsey of Decatur; one aunt, Barbara (Mike) Gray; one uncle, William (Victoria) Richardson of Huntsville; two nephews, Austin and Derrick Ramsey; two nieces, Kendall Peoples and Courtney Ramsey all of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brodrick Parham, Brandon Tankey, Cameron Matthews, Dewan Troupe, Randy Griffin, Fredrick Dunigan, Grant Johnson and Avery Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of On Somethin' Entertainment, Home Team Entertainment and Bomb Productions.
