Services at Temple Israel, corner Longwood Avenue and Plymouth Street, Boston on Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Observance Tuesday following the interment at Sharon Memorial Park and Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m. each day. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be donated to the Ellen and Harold Wald Parkinsons' Fund, c/o Dr. Robert G. Feldman, University Hospital, 80 East Concord Street, Boston, MA 02118-2394. Arrangements by Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, Brookline.

∼ELLEN G. WALK, PHILANTHROPIST AND RESEARCH VOLUNTEER; AT 83
Ellen Grossman WALD, a philanthropist who also volunteered as a research subject, for the study of Parkinson's disease, died Sunday in University Hospital of respiratory complications. She was 83.
Mrs. WALD had suffered from Parkinson's for more than 30 years and during that time she had volunteered for every newly developed drug or procedure. She was a close collaborator with her physician, Dr. Robert G. Feldman, chief of neurology at University Hospital.
Mrs. WALD, who had lived in Brookline for the past 50 years, was born in Quincy. She graduated from Quincy High School and from the Boston University school of practical arts and letters.
Her first job was in the office of Harold WALD, a certified public accountant in Hingham whom she married in 1933. She and her husband established the Ellen and Harold Wald Parkinson's Fund and after he died in 1977, she endowed the Ellen Harold Wald Neurological Center, both at University Hospital.
Mrs. WALD also took part in fundraising for the Hebrew Teachers College, Hadassah, University Hospital, and other causes. She also established the Harold and Ellen Wald Children's Library at Temple Israel in Boston.
Mrs. WALD leaves a son, Stephen L. WALD of New York; two brothers, John GROSSMAN of Palm Beach, Florida, and Morton GROSSMAN of Brookline; two grandchildren; and her companion of the last 20 years, Regina SCHMITT.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. today in Temple Israel in Boston. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon.
