If one word can describe a human life then the best word to describe Rex Wilson is "true."

He was true to his country serving at the end of World War II.

He was true to his coworkers at Geneva Steel for 35 years.

He was true to his neighbors, always helping make the area he lived more pleasant and attractive.

He was true to his church, not only in fulfilling assigned responsibilities but also living day to day with a deeper commitment that came from truly living the religion that he so devoutly believed in.

He was true to his family, always supporting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren often putting their desires and needs before his own.

He was true and devoted to his wife of nearly 55 years. Mostly he was true to himself; he lived a life that was consistent with his beliefs and opinions.

The world would be a better place if there were more people like him.

Rex J Wilson was born in Hatch, Utah to Mary Elizabeth (Mazie) Jones and Paul Leonard Wilson on November 26, 1927.

He died of pulmonary fibrosis on March 15, 2004.

He married the love of his life, Lena Ipson of Panguitch, Utah on June 8, 1949 in the St. George L.D.S. Temple.

In 1950 Rex moved his family to Utah County.

In 1956 they made a permanent move to their home in Pleasant Grove where his wife still resides.

Rex was a devoted life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Three of his favorite callings included a stint as Scout Master, a Family History Mission that he and Lena served together in Salt Lake City, and as an ordinance worker for many years at the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples.

Rex is survived by his wife Lena of Pleasant Grove, children Rex Wayne (Cecilia) of Sandy, Thomas Boyd (TediAnn) of West Jordan, and Cindy Jane of Pleasant Grove, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
