Nicki was a dog that I rescued from the county animal shelter. He was a Chow and retriever mix and he was THE sweetest dog, ever. About 2 years ago, we discovered that he was diabetic and his health really went down hill from there. We could not bear see him suffer, so we had to put him down. It broke our hearts. I cry for him every day, especially at bedtime because he slept with us.
