Justin died at the scene of an automobile accident on U.S. 41 and Coxville Road in Parke County.
He was born in Dearborn, Mich., the son of Greg and Carol Howard Hiatt.
Justin graduated from Maconaquah High School in 1997 where he enjoyed running and wrestling.
Following graduation from high school, he worked as a security guard in the Detroit area for several years before securing a job as a firefighter at Hulman Field Air Force Base, Terre Haute.
He was a member of the 122nd Fighter Wing in Fort Wayne and was in the process of preparing for deployment to Iraq.
He was the loving father of two beautiful daughters.
