Joseph LeRoy "Joe" Lynch was born February 15, 1922 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia to Thomas Jefferson Lynch and Rosa Caroline "Carrie" Farris Lynch. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Growing up his best friend was Joseph Bowden "Joe" Neely, Jr.
Joe married Melrose Larue Markham Lynch, and they became the parents of two daughters, Kathryn Renee and Sharon.
Joe passed away on July 26, 1989 in DeKalb County, Georgia at age 67 and is buried near his wife in Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia.
