FELTON David E. Dietz, 91, of North Hopewell Township, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Pleasant Acres in York. He was the husband of the late B. Elaine (Huson) Dietz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Paul (Lebanon) Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6955 Rippling Run Rd. in Felton. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion and 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be held in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Dietz was born in Jacobus on November 19, 1922, the son of the late Morris A. and Mary E. (Shearer) Dietz. He was a bus driver for the former Tollinger Bus Lines which became Red Lion Bus Company, where he retired after over 50 years of service. He also worked at Leader Farm's Hatchery and farmed Sunnyside Farm in Felton. Mr. Dietz was a member of St. Paul (Lebanon) Evangelical Lutheran Church and Sunday school in Felton. He was a member of Felton Fire Company, Stewartstown Lions Club, National Rifle Association, and was a founding member of Brown's Run Hunting Camp in Lycoming County. Mr. Dietz leaves three sons, Galen D. Dietz and his wife Wanda of Felton, Keith L. Dietz and his wife Nena of Red Lion, and Brian E. Dietz and his wife Cathy of Red Lion; two daughters, Linda E. Sechrist and her companion, John Reese of Dallastown and Beth A. Lentz and her husband, Mark of York; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathryn Weikert and Beulah Jane Stump. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
