Mrs. JoAnn Lillian Long, 79, was born in Loveland, Colorado September 21, 1931 to Carl H. and Katherine Eckhardt and was one of seven children. JoAnn passed away peacefully at San Joaquin Hospice, Stockton, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister and is survived by her husband, John and five children and seven step-children, She leaves seventeen grandchildren and thirty one great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She spent most of her life in Worland and Casper, Wyoming working in the food service industry as catering and banquet managers mostly with the Ramada Inn. Upon moving to Stockton, she and her husband managed the Don Avenue Condos. She was a member of the Emblem and Iris Clubs and a member of STARS. She enjoyed life, with occasional gambling trips and traveling.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 808 Porter Avenue, Stockton, California. Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton, California. Committal will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, Lodi, California.
