Leon was raised in the West Texas area attending school in Lubbock until he joined the Navy, at the age of 17. He received an honorable discharge after serving 4 years.
He was an Upholstery/Fabricator by trade, and worked in the Dallas area most of his life. He loved and took pride in his work. A few of his favorites include, fishing, yard work, being creative and piddling.
Leon was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers Lonnie Weldon Brinlee and Austin Ardale (Dale) Brinlee and Sisters Bonnie Helen Barkley, Willie Katherine (Kay) Thomas and Barbara Dean (Bobbi) Logan.
Survivors include his wife Virginia (Miss Jenney) Jeffery-Brinlee of the home, Sons Wesley Allen Brinlee of Denton, TX and Chad Aaron Brinlee and wife Becky of Bells, TX and Step-son Willis Glen Jeffery and wife Melanie of Ninnekah, OK. Grandchildren Kayla, Wesley Allen Jr., and Emma Brinlee and Ariel and Gracie Jeffery.
