Private, Company I, 7th US Cavalry. He died with General George A. Custer and the other members of his unit during the Battle of the Little Big Horn.

Born in Alesford, England, he immigrated to the United States, and enlisted on September 4, 1873 at St. Louis, Missouri. He gave his previous occupation as Grocer. He had hazel eyes, dark brown hair, a fair complexion, and was 5 feet 6 1/4 inches tall. Following the battle, his body was initially buried where he fell, and a year later, was reburied in the Mass Grave at the top of Last Stand Hill.
