He was born December 31, 1928, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Virgil and Hazel "Inman" Varner.
He was an employee of Chevron Chemical until March 31, 1985; He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Keith Varner, one daughter Maureen Sue Varner, one brother Lawrence Varner and one sister Ruth Strohmaier.
Survivors include his wife Juanita Varner of the home, one son Neil and wife Mary of Hardy, Arkansas, one daughter Joy Hays of Denver Colorado, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
