The daughter of Alva Perry Wallace and Birdie Mae Wilson, Charlotte married LaVern Patrick "Bus" Freeman on 14 Mar 1944 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton, Jersey County, Illinois. They were the parents of 4 children.

She worked as a cook at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton.

Charlotte died on Easter Sunday 2014 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. She was 92 years and 17 days old.

She was survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law; 1 daughter and son-in-law; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Bus; her parents; 2 brothers, Wilbur Wallace and Donald Wallace; and 5 sisters, Geraldine Bittner, Virginia Bailey, Corinne Forbes, Cosette Seal and Lucille Franz.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on 22 Apr 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton. A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted there at 10 a.m. the following morning. Charlotte was buried next to her husband, Bus, who passed away in 2002.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.

Children: 3 sons, 1 daughter.
