Ray Bowers was born November 7th, 1923 in Spencer, Nebraska to Sid & Mary (Kerbel) Bowers. He spent his younger years growing up on a farm. They moved to Minnesota where he finished school and graduated from Truman High School in 1942. On September 15, 1943 he married Evelyn Bursell and they started farming near Truman and continued farming in Lewisville/ Madelia until retiring. He and Evelyn retired in Madelia. They enjoyed many winters in Arizona. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, fishing, playing cards all of which he played very competitively. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by his family.
Ray is survived by his wife Enid; his children (Debbie) of Minneapolis, Chuck ( Peggy) Bowers of Madelia, Jim ( Trish) Bowers of Lonsdale, Darlene (Ron) Splinter of North Mankato, Dale ( Beverly) Bowers of Owatonna, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; brother Harold (Donna) Bowers; sisters Betty (Connie) Lewis, Phyllis (Delvin) Meyer and many nieces and nephews and Enid's family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, son Jerry, his parents, sister and brother in law.
