Lucille (Anna) Boyd, 89, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames with her loving family at her side.

Lucille was born September 16, 1924 at her grandparents farm in Sullivan County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Irvin W. and Annie L. Coffman Rust. She lived in Missouri, South Dakota and later Iowa where she settled in Marshalltown.

Lucille met the love of her life Charles (Charley) Boyd when she was 14 and he was 15. They dated using a bike for transportation. On September 6, 1940 at ages 15 and 16, they eloped to Albany, MO. They soon became the parents of 6 children; Vernie, Karen, twins Charlene and Darlene, Terry and Kim.

Lucille worked at Fisher Controls for 37 years, retiring April 1, 1988. While there, she was on the Fisher softball, basketball and bowling leagues.

She loved to travel and had been in 46 of the continental states. Charley said once, "If a car was moving, she was in it." She loved to play 500 and Pepper, scrabble, Triominos and bingo. She would read into the middle of the night; this must have been a hereditary thing because her mother, sisters, Vernice Paul and Ruth Spaccamonti all did the same.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Charley and children Karen Millard, Charlene Boyd, Terry (Melaina) Boyd and Kimberly Boyd, a sister, Ruth Spaccamonti, and brother, Terry Michaels, several grandchildren, Jeff Bruns, Jeanette Jensen, Paul (Michelle) Greene, Genele Norton, Cameron White, Alyssa Boyd, Brandon Boyd, granddaughter-in-law, Loretta Powell, several great grandchildren, Jesse (Dakota) Jordan, Lynsey Bruns, Connor Jensen, Jordan Jensen, Lauren Greene, Kylie Greene, Taylor Norton, Morgan Pitts, Jace Welton, Jacob White and two great great grandchildren, Skyler and Willow Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Annie, brothers, William Rust, Delbert Rust and Pat Schmidt, sisters, Vernice Paul and Deloris Handy, children, Vernie Boyd and Darlene Baer, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
