Althea, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her daughter's home in Perrinton, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was born to George and Nina Trumpour.

Her family later settled in upstate New York. In 1964, Althea relocated back to Michigan and lived throughout the Central Michigan area.

She married Frank Bott and for several years they traveled throughout the US and Mexico and eventually settled in Florida. After Frank passed in 1994, Althea returned to Michigan.

She loved to walk and often told of the miles and miles that she had traveled by foot and the many sights she had seen. That agility would carry on throughout her life when in 2008 she moved to The Laurel's of Carson City where she was dubbed "The Dancing Queen." In 2010, her thirst for adventure also prompted her to take her first ever airplane ride during a promotion at Alma Airport.

Two years later, against all odds, she found an amazing love with special friend, Harry Baker. Together the two were like young teens which reignited her thirst for fun and adventure. The two often double dated with daughter and son-in-law, Althea and Doug.

She also enjoyed BINGO, casino trips, camping, fun times with family, and especially back road riding.

Waiting for her in heaven will be her parents, husband Frank, sisters: Betty Rector and Grace Morgan, brothers: Loyal, Thomas, Richard, Arthur, and infant twins: Henry and Henrietta. She will also be greeted by sons: Clifton Shaw and Curtis Farman; young grandsons: William Shaw and Billy Donley; granddaughter Melissa (Miraglia) Whitaker in 2004; and very special friend Harry Baker in 2013.

She leave behind sisters: Hannah (William) Desaw of Macks Creek, MO and Alice Gay of Palo, MI; daughters: Bonnie (Dick) Myers of Painted Post, NY, Wanda (Louie) Miraglia of Florida, Carolyn (John) Yaw of Florida, Althea (Doug) Powell of Perrinton, MI, Doreen Austin (Jim Patterson) of Mt. Pleasant, MI; son Douglas Shaw of St. Louis, MI; step-children: Pat Bott and Sue Sova of Alma, MI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She held a very special place in her heart for longtime friends: Shirley Patterson of Weidman, MI and her favorite dance partner Joel Todd, Activities Director at the Laurels of Carson City.

In honor of her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service and luncheon was held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Newark Township Hall Ithaca, MI. Pastor Ken Harger officiated.
Please join us in honoring our "Pink" Panther by wearing her favorite color to the service.

Donation may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or to the family fund so we may purchase a bench along the walking trail in Haradine Park (Carson City) in memory of Mom.

The family is being served by the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.
