Dorothy Marguerite (Welton) Conrad, 100, of Bicknell, passed away at 8:45 am Monday April 21, 2014 at Colonial Assisted Living. She was born August 29, 1913, in Bicknell, IN, the daughter of Louis and Nellie Welton. She attended Bruceville High School. Dorothy began her professional career in 1964 when she became an antique dealer. She worked hard learning the trade, collecting antiques, traveling to different malls in various states. She loved it. After a couple of years, her husband, Clyde, joined her and they worked the business together. They would set up at the Covered Bridge Festival in Mansfield, IN. They made many friends there. Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was active in various church activities at her church. She devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Ann Bell of Indianapolis and Lynetta Jo Buescher of Fayetteville, AR; sons, Steven Louis Conrad of Terre Haute, IN, and Frank Dale Welton of Indianapolis; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nellie Welton; her husband, Clyde W. Conrad; daughter, Sandra Jean Lewzader; two brothers, Byron and Howard Welton; one sister, Mary Albright; and a brother in infancy. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday April 25, 2014 at Asbury Chapel Church, 11744 E. Ragsdale Rd. Bicknell, IN 47512 (driving directions: turn on Sceptor Rd. to Bruceville Ave and turn right, take Bruceville Ave past golf course and turn left on Ragsdale Rd., church is approx 1/2 mile on left). Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Chapel Church or the Bicknell United Methodist Church.
